INSPIRE

FAQS

GENERAL

The mission of INSPIRE is to lift hearts, inspire action, and empower people of all ages through music, service, and hope.

INSPIRE tours are designed to change lives through music, dance, and service. However, they are not designed or equipped for participants experiencing serious emotional, moral, substance abuse or discipline problems. While our Trip Leaders are outstanding individuals, they don’t have any professional training or resources to deal with participants with significant challenges.

Once you pay your deposit, we will send you the necessary forms for your specific tour.  You will need a passport to travel outside of the U.S.

For any medications/vaccines we recommend you consult the CDC, your local doctor, and country consulate to make this decision.

We highly recommend you have your own travel and health insurance.

INSPIRE invites all participants to be present on tour and so your electronics will be taken at the beginning of the trip and returned at the end. You will have access to your electronics at the airports. If a participant needs to call home then they can arrange that with the Trip Leader. If a parent/guardian  needs to get in touch with a participant  during the trip, they can contact the INSPIRE Trip Leaders who always carry cell phones.

Anyone who is healthy enough to handle the different parts of the tour. There is usually some high adventure, hiking, etc.

You can, but you don’t need to–there will be plenty of people for you to meet and become friends with on the tour.

Most of our tours will have departures from the PHX and SLC Airports, but we also have participants coming from many locations, so we will work with you if you are not located near one of those airports

We recommend that you pack a carry-on and a backpack. You can use your backpack as a day bag or you can pack a smaller (think drawstring bag) day bag.

We do two different types of service on our tours. One type of service is bringing donations in country that will help specific organizations that we partner with so that we know what they actually need. The other type of service we do in country is sustainable service. We build playgrounds with the locals, paint houses and schools, and help the locals with projects that will last for years to come.

Please let us  know! We will let our food providers in country know but be aware that sometimes the food options are limited to what the members and restaurants in the area cook. Most of the time, they are able to accommodate those with food allergies or restrictions, but we do encourage you to bring enough snacks to last the trip in the case of the restaurants providing something you are unable to eat.

Yes.  If you are traveling outside the US,  you are responsible for obtaining your own passport. This can be done online and costs $145.

Most countries do not require a visa, so if that is a requirement for your trip we will let you know shortly after registering.

You will exchange money once you arrive at the airport in the country you are travelling to, but you can exchange money beforehand if you would like.

Nope! Some knowledge of the language is always helpful, but you will be able to get around fine with your Trip Leaders and you will learn more while you are there.

The cost of most tours includes EVERYTHING, except food on the days of travel.  This will cover airfare, food, lodging, excursions and adventures, service project materials, etc. You may bring your own money to purchase souvenirs and snacks.

Costs for Concert Tours typically do not include airfare and some meals, and those will be specified in the tour documents after registering.

INSPIRE’s first international music service tour was in the summer of 2016 and we have been doing tours ever since them (except for the COVID related cancelled tours of 2020).

All of our tours are life changing. There is a cost difference for some of our tours, so your budget may help determine which tour is best for you. Some countries, like the Domincan Republic, we plan to visit every year, so that will almost always be an option. We also plan a tour to a new country almost every year, so that is an option as well.

“Kids Kits” are small toys, stickers, nail polish (the mini ones), bracelets, small games, jump rope, etc. you pack (in ziploc bags) to share with the kids/senior citizens you meet in country. You will regret not bringing things to share more than you will worry about looking nice or having enough clothes when we arrive at the different places we are going to be doing service projects.

Registration opens the first Monday of August each year and is on a first come, first serve basis until the tour is full.
